Archpriest Gabriel Delitsin's textbook, which served as the basis for our book, was first published in St. Petersburg in 1880 under the title "A Pious Mother Explains the Basic Subjects of the Law of God in the Circle of Her Native Family." It was one of the best preschool resources ever. During the pre-revolutionary years, the book went through more than ten reprints and received the approval of the Holy Synod.
