In the second part of the book from the Flavian series, the story continues about the churching of the novice Alexy - that is the name of the main character. A layman who once experienced the miracle and joy of meeting Christ lives a life overshadowed by the light of divine truths, becoming a child of the Church under the guidance of an experienced spiritual father, a village priest and at the same time his former classmate Father Flavian.
The book is written in such a living language that the characters appear alive, as if the story is in real time. Together with picturesque details and descriptions of people and situations, the book is saturated with that special light of simplicity, love and warmth, which is so inherent in living Orthodoxy.
Without complicated terms and pompous words, wonderful and not so wonderful events take place before the eyes of the reader, ordinary worldly situations are replaced by wonderful and incomprehensible events. But God's Love is felt in everything, which is why the books in this series are so popular among both deeply churched and non-church readers.
